iPhone 5 Untethered Jailbreak Will Release December 22nd! [IMP. UPDATE]

Well well well, it seems that our Christmases come early. For those of you who are real on jailbreaking Apple’s devices, and especially those of iPhone 5 users, follow us after the break to get the news!

Is an Untethered Jailbreak for the iPhone 5 Really Coming December 22nd?

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been reporting on alleged progress of the iPhone 5 untethered jailbreak. The short answer for all of that is: they’re still working on it. Sadly, that’s also the case today. It looks like the Chronic Dev Team is still hard at work chipping away at the defenses that Apple has erected for the iOS 6, something that many has come to regard as a major inconvenience. Still, there’s hope. There’s always hope but this is a more concrete form of hope. According to Auto-o-mobile, a team of jailbreakers going by the name of Dream JB has announced the seemingly impossible: a release date for the jailbreak. December 22nd.

The team is, in no way, affiliated to the Chronic Dev Team. They do, however, have a website where they will be delivering details about the jailbreak on. Needless to say, there’s been a fair amount of disbelief expressed in the community. How could anyone who is not the Chronic Dev Team come up with a jailbreak? A member of the team had apparently spoken out in regards to this disappointment about this. To quote Auto-o-Mobile, the unnamed chap ‘it is ridiculous for them to say that jailbreaking is impossible outside of the Dev Team and went on say that the untethered jailbreak would be out on 22^nd December 2012.’
